Company History
In 1983, TEK Industries was known as Phoenix Manufacturing and the main product was go-carts. In 1984, the company won its first electronics manufacturing contract, then incorporated as TEK Services. Steve Nabity, the company's current CEO, purchased TEK Services and joined the crew in 1989. Not long after, a fire destroyed much of the operation. The company started over with nine employees.
Expansion into Many Arms of Industry
Over the years, by winning and completing a wide variety of workforce and process management contracts, TEK became an experienced solutions partner with a proven track record serving Fortune 1000 companies.
In 1991, the company began manufacturing it's own product, now called the AccuCut® Roller Die Cutting Machine, a cutting tool for the education market. The OEM experience helped us understand the needs of our contract clients on a deeper level, which helped us become more responsive, more efficient and more capable of providing adaptable process management expertise, not just order-taken services.
Innovative Diversification and Experience
In the fall of 1995, the company established a T-1 telecommunications line to host an AccuCut Web site. When Internet access was offered to the community, TEK Net Communications was formed. About the same time, AccuCut began expanding into the crafts market with die cutting. The company launched a crafts Web site, bringing together the staff's expertise in the Internet and the crafts industry. JANGLE.com became the Web's largest scrapbooking and crafts online magazine—and also provided in-house creative services for all TEK divisions. TEK Net was sold & JANGLE.com became part of AccuCut. This tradition of innovative, efficient synergy between TEK departments helped us further develop our abilities to flexibly adapt to any workforce or process need in any industry.
All of these experiences, with the knowledge and expertise gained, have converged to make TEK a uniquely qualified workforce solutions partner for a wide variety of industries. Today, TEK Industries offers the people, space and expertise—plus the added skill of adaptability—to complete any project on target, on budget, on time.
